Painting Paper Topics - American Art

Painting Paper Topics - American ArtAmerican art is all about the contemporary era, particularly paintings. From the nineteen sixties onward, when commercial art was at its height, there was a marked change in the depiction of subjects, with many movements, and artists started to take the art form in many different directions.Abstract art on the other hand, began around the time of World War II and continued to be produced for much of the twentieth century. There are several great movements from the early abstract art, including the abstract expressionists, impressionists, cubism, pop art, pop-art, avant-garde, impressionist, Modernism, and Post-Modernism.American art is very popular in the 21st century. This is a celebration of American culture, and what is made within that culture. The styles are in the lives of each generation, until the present day, and each artist takes a turn painting with what he or she is trained and has experienced.Abstract art is also considered the newest and possibly most vibrant. But it can also be thought of as the opposite of more conventional painting styles. It is, or at least was, the farthest from realistic expressionism, but in a sense it is that genre of painting.Abstract painting, of course, has been around since long before modern times. It's history starts in France, where it was a movement during the nineteenth century. Today, Abstract Expressionist art is still popular, despite it's age.An art study would be very valuable to someone who wishes to become an artist. For starters, it would teach them how to paint; from what angle to paint from, how to apply paint, how to plan their work, and even how to bring the people into the picture. Then there is the variety of subjects, which can be thought of as the basics of what an artist needs to know to begin. As always, though, the latest and greatest ideas in the field of art can be found through books. A book on art would make a very useful book on many subjects and will take them in new directions and onto many other subjects. Of course, there are millions of books on art out there, so if you choose this route, it may be best to choose a subject that you like, and go from there. As a student, this is an avenue where new ideas can be explored, and the old ones put to the test. It is also a way to learn more about your own work and experience before making it as a true expression of yourself.
